A Quick Gouache for an Exhibit Cancelled by Covid!

With my painting buddies, the Seven Palettes, I was to mount an exhibition a year ago at Oasis Gallery, Westfield Montgomery Mall, Bethesda, MD. Covid killed that so we got to work and ‘hung’ a digital exhibit online. Here’s one of the gouache paintings I had done for that show. It’s a bit too literal, but I figured some mother or grandmother might like it!

Pink ballerina and blue attendants

Here’s a quick watercolor done on some super soft and absorbent handmade paper I had laying around. It’s based on a photo of some darling little girls dancing at their school’s holiday production. It only took a couple of minutes and it was a ton of fun!

New Paintings Over the Holidays

I squeezed in a few iPad paintings over the Christmas holiday.  My favorite is this sketch of son Sam and grandson Max relaxing over a new book.  I shared on Facebook & will add again below the little scribble I did of Max’s lego creation made from a complex (5 bag) set on Christmas Day.  He only called for adult help once or twice in the multi-hour endeavor.  Way to go, Max!

Gotta New Darling-in-Law!

What a week it was! Getting our first glimpse of new grandboy and welcoming a wonderful new daughter-in-law into our family.

On the Big Day

The Happy Couple

The wedding, held at the lovely farm and vineyard of Mariam’s parents, was short and sweet. And the reception long and merry ~~ with belly dancing by the two mothers (gadzooks!) and boogying by all to New Orleans blues. The perfect melding of two families and two cultural traditions. Made pluperfect by the presence as best man of our other son, accompanied by his brave and beautiful wife and their wonderful new baby, our first grandchild. We are so blessed.
